About 4-H Curriculum4-H National Headquarters defines curriculum as the sum total of all intentional learning experiences. State 4-H programs within the Cooperative Extension System, 4-H National Headquarters at USDA, and National 4-H Council provide leadership for the development of National 4-H Curriculum. This partnership provides the knowledge, resources, and management necessary to develop and market quality youth curriculum .4-H curriculum focuses on three primary mission mandates: science, engineering, and technology (SET); healthy living; and citizenship. Youth activity guides (curricula) are developed for a variety of age ranges, from kindergarten through high school years. 4-H curriculum is developed for the 4-H audience, but may be used by external audiences to supplement classroom learning and individual educational interests. 4-H materials embrace experiential learning, where youth 'learn-by-doing' and assist in determining the direction of their learning. We strive for all youth activity guides to be filled with fun, engaging experiences that cultivate abilities that youth need for everyday living, as they progressively gain knowledge about subjects that interest them. These high quality educational materials are framed with positive youth development principles and are aligned with national education standards.
